Broken Ground Farm

The animals were all well on Sunday. We started our day feeding them all. The piggos are doing a good job trampling down wooded areas for us.

Sunday we didn’t go to church. There has been some sickness going around and we decided to stay home. We stayed home for a while and then we went to Home Depot to get some things for the house. I spent quite a while Sunday scraping down the inside of our front door in order to get it ready to repaint.

This is after a long time scraping and several vacuum sessions. I really wanted it done, but I just couldn’t keep going Sunday night.

We ended our trip to town by introducing Sunshine to Taco Bell. We hadn’t had it in years and she had never had it. It wasn’t too bad. All the kids liked the cinnamon twists.

Monday was labor day and C.N.R. had the day off from work. Despite our best efforts, Monday included another Home Depot run. We got more concrete to level the hearth and paint that would adhere to our metal door.

The trim needs to be repainted, but it looks so much better!

We also grabbed leveling cement to fix the hearth.

Finally level after years! It took 3 bags of leveling cement, but it looks so good. Tile will be in soon.

We printed 3 of these little acorn lights and hung them in the kitchen window. They take tea lights. So cute!

Turnips. The garden is coming along and doing well. I am looking forward to some yummy fall vegetables.

Today is Tuesday. I have spent today doing house work and taping off areas in the house to repaint.

We started school today. We are adding one subject a day until we get built up in a routine.

We didn’t go to Sunshine’s appointment today. Her grandparents came over and the visit would have been about the time of her appointment. We will have to catch it up next week.

The visit with the grandparents went well. It was good to see them. They were able to visit the pigs and check out our property a little. We have been making so many changes lately.

We were not able to paint any today. This house hold fix up project has been one project after another because things have to be fixed before the original project can be accomplished.

All in all it was a good day and we still start again tomorrow.
