Thank Jesus for Friday! C.N.R. has a 3 day weekend. I am so happy to have him home.
This morning was a little different. I woke up to a phone call from my grandpa. I had accidentally pocket dialed him yesterday and he called me this morning. It was good to hear his voice, to hear him laugh. It was a sweet wake up.
Sunshine and I got up and started our morning with Bible stories. Shortly after Happy was up, followed by Lovey. The boys did their Bible stories, I had coffee, and the kids all got breakfast. I ran out to the shop to switch out printer filament and start a print, a cow.

The end result is above. I didn’t design it, bit it is a fun print and the kids enjoy getting them.
We freed the chickens and feed the piggies today.

This particular chicken decided he was going to try to flog me again today. He had been doing so well. I am not having that. I had to chase him down and catch him to cuddle him. It was so frustrating. I finally got him cornered in the coop and was able to pick him up. I gave him cuddles and pets and let the kids pet him. He wasn’t very happy about it, but he didn’t flog me again today. I think I may have to go in the pen with him more frequently so he remembers who is boss. Happy got the eggs and ran out of room in the carton. I am going to have to restock on empty cartons. We finally found one tonight.
We came back down to the house and Sunshine and I set to cleaning up the front porch. We cleaned the picnic table, organized the shoes, and everyone helped clear toys away. I wanted the porch to be clean and to make a door hanger for fall. Well, our door was a mess. We washed the side of the house a little and then the door. Then I decided to paint it.

Before. The strip under the window is where there was duct tape. It was a red strip that said “God loves you”. It was a sweet thing a kid did, so I left it. But goodness, it was a gooey mess.

It was a sticky mess. It didn’t sand off and rubbing alcohol didn’t work.

Orange oil to the rescue. It worked great. Took a little paint too.

Scuffed, but not sticky.

Finished door! It looks so good and matches Sunshine’s fort area. I love it. It feels so good to have it cleaned up. This unexpected project took most of my afternoon, but a door hanger will look good in the door.

Meet Poppy a.k.a. escape artist. This is her outside of the fence. It isn’t electrified so we just lifted it up and let her back in. She was happy to go back in.

Sweet girls relaxing.
Tonight Sunshine and I played on our newly cleaned porch and then went to put the chickens in the coop for the evening. I got them all in but Eileen. She just didn’t want to go inside. I had Sunshine get in a help. She still didn’t go in. AHHHHH. We called C.N.R. and he and the boys came to the rescue.

Here the piggies are watching Sunshine and I trying to get Eileen in the coop. They are inside their own fence, probably wondering what on earth was happening.
We got them up and then we went to visit the pigs.

C.B. nose deep in rooting.

Piggos eating poplar leaves and Peso checking everything out and trying to get pets.
We came in and got cleaned up for bed. Then we began baking for a bake sale Lovey is helping with tomorrow.

We baked past bedtime and that meant no reading. Tomorrow will be an early day.
Today was a great day, but I am tired and ready for bed. I’ll have to see what all we get into tomorrow.
