Broken Ground Farm

It feels like it has just been wild here. Tuesday night I was so tired. On Wednesday the kids and I hung out at home. They slept over with their grandparents because I had to do more cleaning on Thursday.

We were all going to go to church Wednesday, but C.N.R. has been so tired. We just let the grandparents take the kids to church and we stayed home. We ordered out Mexican food. It was good. I cleaned the kitchen and we were in bed by 8:30. It was wonderful to be in bed so early.

I got up with C.N.R. around 4ish on Thursday morning. I took care of animals in the dark, ran the washer, dishwasher, Bible study, paid bills, ordered groceries, and went to clean. I clean and scrubbed for about 9 hours. It was exhausting, but worth it. I came home and took a shower. C.N.R. cooked meat patties and corn off the cob. It was all great. The grandparents sent home chocolate chip cookies. Those were tasty too. It was after 10 by the time we got to bed.

The gnats loved the flashlight. Not cool. I was trying to hold the light, fill the water, and feed them. The gnats were swarming near the light. Hard not to breathe them in.

Today is Friday. I woke up with a major headache. Coffee and Tylenol to the rescue. I put vanilla protein powder in the coffee. It was pumpkin spice coffee with vanilla protein powder. It was so good. It is Levels brand. Protein coffee and bacon made my breakfast.

We all ate and then went to change printer filament. We are printing baboons.

The pigs were so loud this morning. As soon as they heard us go out they started squealing like they were starving. I should get video of it tomorrow.

Pigs and chickens were well this morning. The pigs rushed to the food. We poured C.B. some to the side. As long as the big pigs had food he could deter them from his, but once theirs was out, they didn’t care any more and his was considered free game. The chickens had laid 4 eggs already.

I have worked on laundry and cleaned the kitchen. I also cut up half a watermelon. We eat through it so quickly, but the bowl wouldn’t hold a full melon. The piggies are going to LOVE getting melon rinds.

The boys said they wanted a squishy marshmallow with eyes and a mouth. Finally, I realized it was because they were watching Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.

What they got. Oh, my goodness. I am not thrilled with them. All I see is what I should have done different, but the boys are happy with them. Happy said it is his favorite “stuffed pet” right now. That makes me happy. It was a simple make with me having no pattern. I would make this shorter next time.

I have felt a little moody today. After supper I went outside for sunshine and to visit with the pigs. My people came out too. That helped a lot. Fresh air, my favorite people, sweet pigs.

I had been thinking about scooping up C.B. and holding him. C.N.R. did it for me. He was pretty chill to be held, more so than I thought he would be. Lovey wants to hold him like that now.

We came in and got cleaned up. Happy and Sunshine had been playing in the wallow with boots on and C.B. made me fairly muddy.

We ate cookies and watched a movie. Also, we played hangman. It has been a good night and I am sure tomorrow will be good. The kids get prizes for reading this summer and then we have some time with church family.
