This morning came early-ish. After my alarm went off I went downstairs to pray and read The Word. Nothing like coffee and Jesus to start my day. I’ve been reading about the Proverbs 31 woman and looking into how I can apply those teachings to myself. It is a good meditation. It is a self-check on my abilities, effort, attitude, and return on my labor. Let me be honest. I don’t always want to put in the work, but as I have been reading it says in Proverbs 31:13 – “She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands.” I have had to remind myself…”work with willing hands…” Putting a Biblical outlook on things I may not want to do, dishes for example, makes the work seem not so bad. Also, is fleece close enough to wool? I’m pretty sure she was seeking textiles to make clothes for her family. Does this mean I can get an alpaca and gather fleece for scarves and such? I would love to have some alpacas.

The kids came out one at a time. They did Bible stories. We did some house work. I went to the shop and got the Bambu Lab printer ready for making some chameleons. Then we went to take care of the animals.

That rooster is about to be supper. King Stripe’s reign will come to an end if he doesn’t act right. I let them out into the fenced area today to peck and scratch. I checked their food and water and decided they needed more food. The kids were eager to take turns scooping up chicken feed for me to fill the bucket. King Stripe was not happy to have me in his space, even though I wasn’t bothering any chicken. He took to flogging my legs several times. I finally resorted to getting a stick to push him away. Better than punting a rooster, right?

The hens were all happy. Ms. Chick Chick was caught sitting on a egg. I recovered it from beneath her and she was still hesitant to leave the nesting area. I gave her a little nudge with the dividing door and she popped out an egg! Talk about fresh. I’m not sure whose egg she was sitting on before.

She is so pretty.

Said door used to nudge. You can see the egg under her.

The egg she popped out is the one on the right.

Piggos were happy to see us and get food. Hank likes his so much he wears it.

You can see it behind his ear. He gets so excited to eat that food usually gets dumped on him too.

Lovey Boy feeding his favorite animals. Love him being decked out in overalls and boots.

Peso and Happy Boy getting the hose out the pig pen.

Once we got the animals sorted, I went to check the pear tree, Pears were not ready to eat. We did pull the wonky looking one off the tree. The pigs loved it.

We took today as a no T.V. day. Mostly because the boys were in trouble. Last night they left the yard work and came inside to watch T.V. without permission and before the work was over. It has been so nice not having the T.V. going. They honestly haven’t minded either. There has been much more play going on and that is way better.

Everyone painted with water colors.

Lovey Boy had this idea and had started it without my help. I had him bring it outside where the rest of us were hanging out. Happy Boy was reading to me and Sunshine Girl and I were doing hair. Eventually all kids had their own bubble set up and we added food coloring for fun. Pink made pink bubbles. The boys wanted orange and it didn’t really make orange bubbles. They blew bubbles, popped bubbles, and invented a move called the “Bubble Clap”. Good clean fun!

She picked out hair styles. The purple head band wouldn’t stay on me so I ended up with kitty ears.

C.N.R. came home and he helped me with the rooster problem. He had read about showing them who is the boss. Round 2. I went in and the rooster started flogging my legs again, trying to spur me too, but his spurs aren’t in yet. Hubby came inside the fence with me and we were able to catch him. Apparently we are supposed to catch him and snuggle him until he is calm. He will begin to see me as dominant. Time will tell. If this doesn’t work, he will be supper. We did move the chicken coop today. They have new grass in the coop and a new place to scratch. This much easier with the two of us.

Hubby worked in some other garden beds and it looks so much better. There were some surprise ground cherries! Yum!

It has been a good day today. Time to settle down and get some rest. Trusting tomorrow will be good as well.
